Charmaine Thomas
Before enrolling with CQUniversity, Charmaine had studied in countries all over the world, including Zimbabwe, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Poland, Hungary, and India. She had also worked in environmental journalism, management, and training roles in South Africa before moving to Australia and joining a team specialising in sustainable communities.
Charmaine chose CQU to update her skills and achieve Australian equivalence to her qualifications. Her training and assessment qualification allowed her to return to training in her specialities and open doors to work that unlocked her potential.
Charmaine now works as a conservation, land management and ecosystems trainer, training students in conservation and ecosystems throughout Queensland. Her work involves mentoring students, assessing written and on-site work, and staying current in the industry.
In her spare time, Charmaine is active in mycological projects, hoping that the fungal world will help improve life on earth for all living things.
