Tariq Mohammad Shamim Patwary

Tariq Mohammad Shamim graduated with a bachelor degree in civil engineering from the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh, and worked as a project manager at Environment and Infrastructure Management Solution (EIMS) for five years before deciding to study post-graduate qualifications in his field.

Completing a Master of Management for Engineers helped Tariq Mohammad Shamim secure a scheduler and estimator position with the Australian Reinforcing Company (ARC). His work involves analysing and interpreting drawings, taking off the steel quantities and preparing a Bill of Quantities (BOQ), preparing an estimated quote to submit in tenders based on the BOQ with reference to the Australian Standard, and liaising with the procurement team regarding new/special items in the estimating system.

Tariq Mohammad Shamim says that he developed important skills during his studies, helping him fit into a working environment that he always wanted to work in.
