Claire-Marie Pepper is as an Environmental Scientist with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. In this role, she conducts research within the poultry industry, improving environmental conditions within chicken sheds.

After graduation, Claire-Marie secured a Graduate Agronomist role with Northern AgriServices. Working in Kingaroy, this role varied from working in the field, checking crops, inspecting weeds and pests and soil testing, to working behind the counter serving customers.

A highlight of that role for Claire-Marie was completing her Honours investigating the management of a peanut disease. Claire-Marie considers this a career highlight, as the outcome achieved improved the peanut industry and its operations.

Claire-Marie chose CQUniversity because it offered her desired course of study while providing the flexibility to study online in her hometown of Townsville, rather than moving to South-East Queensland.
