Before studying, Jessica worked in the dentistry field. However, her passion for finance made her pursue a career in Financial Planning. Jessica chose CQUniversity for its flexible online study mode, allowing her to study on her own terms and continue working at the same time.
Since graduation, Jessica has progressed from a client services manager to a professional year candidate at the organisation she works for. To become a financial planner, she must complete a ‘Professional Year', which involves 12-24 months of extra training. As a professional year candidate, Jessica is responsible for attending client meetings with her supervisor, preparing paperwork, processing the implementation of financial advice, completing compliance documents and administration.
Jessica's degree has been crucial in pursuing a career in Financial Planning. There have been some changes to the industry recently regarding education pathways, and without her degree, she would have been unable to begin her ‘Professional Year'.
