A proud Kunibidgi woman from Maningrida in Northeast Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Anthea originally wanted to become a park ranger. She realised she couldn't have much of say in protecting wildlife and heritage in a hands-on role, so her father recommended she become a lawyer.

Anthea was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in Darwin on Tuesday, 4 May 2021. There were times she felt it was impossible and felt like giving up, but she had a dream from a young age and was committed to achieving it.

Living in Darwin with her family and five kids, Anthea has a six-month internship with the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency in Alice Springs. She is now looking for junior lawyer roles, and her long-term goal is admission into the High Court of Australia.
