Bev graduated from CQUniversity in 2009 and worked as Relief Teacher until 2013, when she became a permanent Teacher at Port Douglas State School where she still works to this day. Bev loves her job and has no plans to retire yet. Her degree from CQUni enabled her to pursue a career in teaching, which was always her life goal. She attained that goal at the age of 60 when she graduated.

Bev worked as a childcare centre director but was made redundant in 2007 when the centre closed. She decided to study teaching in 2009 and has not looked back since.

A personal highlight for Bev was the birth of a great-grandson six years ago.
