Myande is employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Glencore Coal Asset Australia (GCAA). He joined Glencore in January 2020 as a graduate mechanical engineer. He previously worked as a diesel fitter for 15 years in the mining industry. In both roles, he contributed to engineering strategies.
In his current role, Myande scopes new projects, improves maintenance strategies and reliability tasks, executes safe work procedures, advises the maintenance team on engineering activities, and guides contractors.
Myande was working full-time while studying for his engineering degree. He decided he wanted to be an engineer when he was in grade 9 and chose to study at CQUni because it offered engineering curriculum which is in line with current employee skill requirements.
