Stefan Holweg

Stefan is currently an Environmental Health Officer for a local council in Central Queensland. His role entails a diverse portfolio from disease prevention, health promotion, disaster management, compliance with food regulations, compliance with environmental protection legislation, compliance with health legislation, planning, Council administration and Council reporting. Being able to work with the community, use his major in Environmental Health and get to know such different characters is very rewarding despite the responsibility that comes with it.

"Every day is a new challenge because you never know what your next phone call or email will tell you: a major chemical spillage in town, noise complaints, food complaints, compliance issues at the landfill".

Stefan chose CQUni because it offered him a balanced lifestyle where he felt able to complete his study while also being able to work and look after children at home. As English is not his first language, Stefan is proud to have achieved a university degree in Australia. While studying, Stefan enjoyed the residential school, getting together with peers and carrying out environmental assessments.
