Tim is the Principal Civil Infrastructure Asset Engineer of Network Assets Management for Aurizon, supporting their 2,740km Central Queensland coal business, however he has also been extremely active in a number of volunteer roles across a long period of time. He was a member of CQUniversity Governance Council from 2006 to 2014, and his positive contribution ensured best practice governance processes, along with a strong strategic and business focus was brought to Council discussions.

As well as sitting on a number of local boards and advisory groups, Tim has been extremely active in national professional bodies. Tim has been the Independent Chairman for the past 5years of the seven member Gladstone Foundation – a perpetual trust funding millions of dollars of social infrastructure in the Gladstone Region. He has previously held multi-term leadership roles with peak engineering body, Professional's Australia, and was a member of the Re-Engineering Australia Advisory Board, Director of the Chiefly Business School, and member of the Capricorn Regional Electricity Council. Tim's passion and participation enriches CQUniversity's communities.

In 2018 Tim was one of only 1,800 Queenslanders from 5 million residents to be selected as a GC2018 Queens Baton Relay bearer for his contribution to regional Queensland and Capricornia Region.

In 2007 Tim was awarded the Order of Australia medal (OAM).
