I was a disability case manager for 13 years and now am the teacher of our Learning Support program. I also teach Essential English for Year 10 and am Head of Program this year. My roles allow me to modify curriculum and create individual learning experiences for students who have non-diagnosed and diagnosed learning difficulties. I advocate for students to assist them to meet their personal learning goals. I am also an advocate for Youth Mental Health and inclusion for all, and an active member of Rainbow Action Group and True Colours. I am the Rainbow Liaison Officer for North Coast region and support both staff and students in our community.

Before my role at Education Queensland, I was a swimming coach and a teacher aide. I decided to study after being an aide for six years. I chose CQUniversity as it was mainly online and close to home. As a single mum of five kids, I needed this flexibility. I love my job and how from mainstream teaching I have become an inclusive teacher who supports diverse learners on their journey in our school.
