John moved to Australia to study and is one of Papua New Guinea's first qualified HR Managers. John is very proud that his qualification has given him the opportunity to make decisions for the betterment of his country.
After graduation and returning to PNG John initially worked as a Project Coordinator for Porgera and Mt Kare mines and is currently working for the industry regulator.
John's HRM qualification is essential to his exciting role involving:
John says his work is very challenging and requires a jack-of-all-trades person, lots of proactive thinking and interaction with all stakeholders – politicians, foreigners, locals, non-government organizations, landowners, provincial government and developers.
