Shae graduated from a Bachelor of Science, majoring in applied chemistry with Distinction.

Since graduating, Shae has been working as a consultant in hydrology and hydrogeology, which entails monitoring ground water at local mine sites and writing compliance reports for environmental authorities.

A proud Wiradjuri woman, Shae is involved in her community, and is Chairperson of the Central Highlands Aboriginal Corporation, a volunteer position dedicated to helping her community.

Shae has since been accepted into a Masters of Teaching (Secondary) with CQUni. She believes that secondary teaching will give her the balance between her passion for science and her need for community engagement.
