Tricia Porta
Tricia Porta graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2019, and has since started working as a registered nurse at Cairns Hospital. Tricia has experience in the Respiratory, Renal and Gastroenterology wards.
A busy Mum of four, CQUni's online study option meant Tricia could juggle study and family life: Tricia says she valued the opportunity to study online, doing so late at night while her children were asleep.I would never have coped with fitting in studies that were fully on campus and face to face around my family life ... it was the flexibility of CQUniversity's program that made it possible for a combination of online study and residential schools".
Tricia is proud of her Indigenous heritage from her father's connection to Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. Tricia hopes her career in nursing can help make a positive change to life expectancy, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
