I am Amanda Nicholson; I am local born and grown up on Gimuy (Cairns). I am of Erubian Badtjala Rotuman Lifu and Scandinavian descent.

I completed my Diploma of Project Management in November 2023 after my work colleague encouraged me to study it. So, I enrolled at CQU and completed my Diploma and graduated in April 2024.  I use the skills and knowledge I learned in it every day in my business and life planning as well. It’s a necessary skill to have.

I am also a qualified Chef, and I founded Feasty Foodz™ my catering business based in Cairns which showcases Torres Strait Islander cuisine.  I previously studied an Associate Degree in Social Science with Southern Cross University. I worked in the education sector for 18 years with students and disengaged youth,  and I used cooking as a medium to engage the students into the education programs.

I recently graduated with a Post Graduate Certificate from RMIT and now I am studying in my first year of my MBA Program which concludes in April 2026.  Last year I was asked to speak at different events, and I always rise to the challenge of Public Speaking.  I have taken steps to gain further qualifications in Business Coaching since and I engaging with people in general and learning about their life and the journey they are on as well.
