I was interested in science, chemistry and IT at school. My goal was to work in the mining industry, so I decided to study a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemistry) minoring in Computing. I chose to study at CQU because it was close to my hometown of Bundaberg. I did my first year in Mackay and the remaining years in Rockhampton.

Upon graduating from CQU, I started a role as Analytical Chemist at Queensland Nickel (QNI) in Townsville. I was there for nearly 10 years. Upon leaving QNI, I started my own computing business. This led me to become a sales manager for Australia Private Networks, selling Satellite Broadband to regional people. In 2010, I started working as a mining consultant for Mincom specialising in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). This job allowed me to use both my chemistry and IT skills. The LIMS product I have been working with is called CCLAS, which I used as a customer while working at QNI. It has been bought and sold by several companies and it is now owned by Datamine which is where I find myself today as the General Manager of the CCLAS product.

I am globally responsible for Datamine's profit and loss, the strategic direction and execution of business priorities for CCLAS EL & CCLAS 6 LIMS solutions, customer support and maintaining relationships with existing customers, working with the Sales & Marketing team to create go-to-market plans, responding to tenders, managing a team of consultants globally to deliver professional services for customer projects, ensuring the quality of CCLAS EL and CCLAS 6 implementations, and managing the research and development (R&D) team to deliver a commercially-driven product road map for CCLAS EL and CCLAS 6.
