I came to study in CQU after finishing my college years in Malaysia. I was very interested in the health care sector and therefore picked CQU to complete my nursing degree. I worked in this field for close to 5 years before I completed my post graduate studies in ICT. CQU was my choice for my post graduate studies due to the great work/study balance.

After graduating with my Masters, and spurred by the demand for ICT professionals I continued my career journey by working for multiple government agencies, including the ACT Government, the Federal Government and finally now in the NSW Government. I also spent some time with IBM as an associate partner and delivered some Defence projects for the country.

My latest work involves running project assurance for all NSW Government ICT and digital investments. The framework that we utilised and formulated has enabled the NSW Government to stand out as a digital world class government. In addition, my team is also responsible for administrating the first agile digital investment fund - Digital Restart Fund. This fund was created to break the old ways of funding projects within the NSW Government and is designed to be focused on agility and outcome-based funding with high citizen impact.

Although my current role is very different from the degrees I completed, learning is life-long. I have continuously pursued different forms of learning: short courses, other degrees to keep myself appraised and keep up to date with the roles I am in.
