Amanda Augustine

I chose CQU because it was one of the few universities offering a fully online program—ideal for my fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) work schedule. Encouraged by my IT Manager, who saw potential in me, I pursued a degree to expand my career opportunities.

After graduating, I held Information & Data Management roles at Incitec Pivot, BHP, Origin Energy, and Boeing Australia, working on document control, application portfolio management, data migrations, and digital transformation projects. I now work at the City of Hobart, where I handle business analysis, process mapping, stakeholder engagement, solution development, and data modelling.

My degree provided a solid foundation across a broad range of concepts, which I regularly apply in practice. It gave me enough knowledge across disciplines to bridge the gap between business and technical teams—and sparked a lasting passion for discovery and learning.
