The practical Bachelor of Nursing offered by CQU provided me with the skills and knowledge to enter straight from university into a nursing specialty. As a perioperative registered nurse, I have completed 3 specialty rotations and have found my niche in orthopaedics. Additionally, my graduating GPA enabled me to successfully enter and complete my Masters of Advanced Practice Nursing degree, working towards becoming a perioperative nurse surgical assistant (PNSA).
My degree provided me with practical and transferable skills that allowed me to be considered immediately after graduation for a nursing specialty. In considering the opportunities the degree / university provided, I obtained a position within a facility where I had previously completed clinical placement.
