Overview

Welcome to the assessment module to complete the set of micro-credentials for ‘Preparing for Success in Higher Education’. This micro-credential includes assessment tasks to evaluate your ability to work independently, demonstrating confidence in the essential skills required for university. The assessment tasks reiterate the theories and concepts covered in previous micro-credentials and require you to reflect on the development of your practical skills and the positive mindsets necessary for success in higher education.  As a micro-credential, this course gives you a certificate of completion and a digital badge to display in your profile or share on social media.  

Independence, self-motivation and confidence are essential skills for university. This online micro-credential will explore a range of theories and concepts to facilitate the development of practical skills and positive attitudes necessary for success in higher education. This micro-credential will provide opportunities for critical self-reflection on key aspects of student life, including individual learning preferences and study habits; time management and goal-setting; individual study and career paths; note­taking and assessment strategies. This micro-credential will require students to practise critical thinking, and apply information literacy skills to their research. Students will learn to negotiate the procedures and systems used in higher education, and practise communication skills in a range of contexts.

Students who successfully complete the set of 9 micro-credentials* developed from the unit SKIL40025 Preparation Skills for University, (which forms part of the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03), may be eligible for credit transfer, pending all other entry requirements to the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.
