CQUniversity Student Loan Scheme
CQUniversity Student Loans are available to students to assist with study or living related expenses incurred during study. These loans are interest-free and intended to provide an alternative option to high-interest loans from other providers. The maximum loan amount available is $1000.
Loans are available to domestic students who are enrolled and actively studying in a CQUniversity diploma (including VET), undergraduate or postgraduate course and have successfully completed at least one term of study. Student Loan Applications will only be considered if you are actively studying at the time of submitting your application (applications submitted during the academic term in which you are enrolled).
Loans will only be approved where the applicant can comfortably demonstrate their capacity to repay the loan in the time specified. Repayment terms are $50 per fortnight commencing 14 days after funding of the loan. Loans cannot be used for the purchase of vehicles, fines or fees, tuition or other capital expenditure.
Student Loans will not be approved in situations of financial hardship. Students experiencing financial difficulties are encouraged to consider applying for a CQUniCares Emergency Grant if the situation is unexpected and/or an emergency.
CQUniversity offers a range of scholarships and bursaries tailored to meet the diverse needs and circumstances of our students. Many scholarships have been designed to specifically assist students studying from particular regions, courses or to support students from disadvantaged or low-income backgrounds. Scholarships can assist students to balance their work/family/study commitments by taking some pressure off the finances. Students can apply for scholarships online through MyCentre.
The Student Loan application requires supporting documentation in order to be assessed. Please check all relevant points on the checklist before submitting your loan application.
