Blake is a General Manager in the power industry. He has sought a range of industry knowledge and experience that has enabled him to take on a broader leadership role as the 2014 Queensland Division President of Engineers Australia. Blake has worked in both Switzerland and Germany, gaining valuable experience, which has contributed to his ability to take on significant leadership roles at a young age.

Blake was named the 2009 Australian Graduate Electrical Power Engineer of the Year, received a high commendation from Engineers Australia as Young Queensland Professional Engineer of the Year 2010, and a commendation in the AIM Rockhampton Young Manager of the Year 2011. Blake remains active with CQUniversity as a member of the Audit Finance and Risk council subcommittee. Blake spoke on behalf of all alumni at the Investiture of CQUniversity's Chancellor in 2016.

Blake was awarded the CQUniversity 2014 Young Achiever Alumni Award.
