Census date

The last date for students to withdraw from enrolled units without academic or financial penalty, apply for a leave of absence, or change their citizenship status or contribution payment option. It is the date after which a student incurs a debt for the unit of study in which they are enrolled. Students must make their upfront payments and/or (as appropriate to a fee category) submit their request/s for Commonwealth assistance by the census date. Research Higher Degree students do not have their fees for an enrolment period reversed when withdrawing prior to the Census Date. Research Higher Degree students are liable for any relevant fees up until the effective date of their withdrawal. Research Higher Degree students changing citizenship status will have this change be made effective the date they provide their documentation to the university and will be liable for any applicable international tuition fees up until the effective date of the citizenship change.
