About the Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services

The Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services oversees the operational roles that service the University such as Digital Services, Commercial Services, Facilities Management, Finance, Business Intelligence, and Strategic Risk and Planning. In addition, the position also has oversight of the University’s Governance Directorate which is responsible for the University’s regulatory and policy framework, provides governance support and advice to the University Council, the Academic Board, and relevant sub-committees. The Division has numerous internal reporting obligations to Council and Committees and external reporting obligations to the State and Federal Governments.

About Narelle Pearse 

Narelle Pearse commenced as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in February 2014, after serving three years on the CQUniversity Council. Since then, Narelle has held positions including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance and Planning) and Vice-President, Corporate and Student Services. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Commerce, Executive MBA, and Graduate Diploma in Economic Development with Distinction from a range of universities, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from CQUniversity. Narelle is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has over 30 years of experience in the private sector within both public and corporate accounting. Prior to taking up this position, Narelle was the CEO of the Mackay-Isaac-Whitsunday Regional Economic Development Corporation (REDC).
