Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) Indonesia and CQUniversity Australia are collaborating to promote access by Indonesian students to a higher degree by research in any discipline offered by CQUniversity. The Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit (BIB), previously known as the MORA-CQUniversity Australia Scholarship Program, offers scholarships to Indonesian citizens pursuing a higher degree by research at any CQUniversity campus in Australia. If you are awarded the scholarship, you will receive full coverage of your tuition fees, along with additional financial support.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • meet the MORA eligibility requirements on the MORA website
  • be a citizen of Indonesia
  • apply for a CQUniversity Australia higher degree by research – refer to the 2024 HDR focus areas for 2024 in Additional Information
  • meet the academic requirements for entry to CQUniversity Australia (including IELTS 6.0 minimum) and be offered a place in the course
  • commence full-time enrolment as an onshore international student at CQUniversity Australia.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • meet the MORA eligibility requirements on the MORA website
  • be a citizen of Indonesia
  • apply for a CQUniversity Australia research higher degree – see the RHD focus areas for 2024
  • meet the academic requirements for entry to CQUniversity Australia (including IELTS 6.0 minimum) and be offered a place in the course
  • commence full-time enrolment as an onshore international student at CQUniversity Australia.
  1. Find a CQUniversity Australia higher degree by research in an area of research strength.
  2. Complete an Expression of Interest, which asks you to select your course and location, along with providing a brief description of your proposed research topic.
  3. Once your Expression of Interest is approved you will be provided with contacts for prospective research supervisors and invited to work with them to formally apply for your higher degree by research.
  4. Make an application to study at CQUniversity Australia. If you have already been awarded the scholarship before you make your application, please indicate so on your application.
  5. Apply for scholarship on the MORA website.

CQUniversity Australia applications for higher degrees by research are open throughout the year.

You will be notified by MORA whether you have been successful in obtaining a scholarship.

The HDR focus areas for 2024 are as follows:

1. Data science – artificial intelligence, machine learning, internet of things, information systems, big data
2. Agriculture – precision livestock, precision horticulture, agricultural education and extension 
3. Workforce research – attraction, retention and development of regional workforces
4. Rural, regional and public health – patient care, models of care, simulation
5. Energy systems – clean energy, microgrids, hydrogen, biofuels and social license to operate
6. Supply chains and the circular economy – regional economies

You will need to complete an Expression of Interest and provide a brief description of your proposed research topic.
