Academic Learning Centre
The mission of the ALC is to provide CQUniversity students with academic advice and guidance to assist them in becoming confident and independent learners.
Welcome to the ALC!
The ALC is a 'one-stop-shop' for information, advice and resources to assist you with many of the requirements of study at CQUniversity in four key areas.
The centre provides assistance on a range of academic issues on-campus and online via email and Zoom. We offer generic group sessions, course specific workshops, individual appointments, drop in centres, print and online resources and online support.
ALC Science provides advice and assistance on science assignments and research, preparatory modules to update student’s science skills in the areas of biology, chemistry, botany, physics, and teaching in 'how to' approach science study.
ALC Mathematics and Statistics enables students to refresh or develop their background knowledge on concepts required for a range of courses. Students are able to utilise quizzes and work through the content at their own pace.
ALC Computing provides a range of resources including templates and information sheets to develop skills such as correct formatting. Staff assist students to negotiate the technological challenges they encounter in their study.
ALC Academic Communication offers assistance to students with a variety of styles of academic assignment writing, referencing, note taking and paraphrasing. We provide a range of resources including information sheets, videos, activity sheets and answer sheets.
We have advisors situated in Academic Learning Centres at many CQUniversity locations. Distance students can access Academic Learning Advisers for a one-to-one appointment through ZOOM; just make an appointment. You can make an appointment by phoning or emailing the ALC.
Email or phone us for an appointment and tell us your student number, what you need assistance with, and which campus you’d like to attend or if you need an online appointment,
