If your Offer Letter lists 'HE-Commonwealth Supported', you have been offered a Commonwealth supported place. This place is subsidised by the Government, meaning you are required to pay the student contribution amount rather than the tuition fees amount.
To confirm your Commonwealth supported place, you MUST submit a Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP before the Census date of your first term. If you do not do so, your enrolment will be cancelled. Census dates can be found in the Key Dates section of the CQUni Handbook. Late submissions cannot be accepted. You must complete this form, even if you are not eligible to defer, or you do not intend to defer your student contribution through HECS-HELP.
A Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP is available in MyCentre. Please have your Tax File Number ready for input. For help completing this form, please visit the Submit a Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP instruction sheet.
If you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of a permanent visa, you may be eligible to access HECS-HELP to defer all or part of your student contribution. In order to access HECS-HELP, eligible students must supply their Tax File Number on the Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP before the Census date for that term. To determine your eligibility for HECS-HELP, please visit the HECS-HELP page.
If you do not intend to defer, or you are not eligible to defer your student contribution, you must pay this upfront before the Census date each term. For assistance making an upfront payment, please visit the How to Make a Payment information sheet.
More information about HECS-HELP is published in the HECS-HELP and Commonwealth supported places information booklet on the Study Assist website.
Student Services and Amenities Fee
A compulsory Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) is charged for two terms per academic year, to fund and improve services of a non-academic nature. This fee is payable by all students in award courses, e.g. Bachelor of Business, Graduate Diploma of Maintenance Management, and Doctor of Philosophy. The due date for payment is the Census date of each term. Census dates can be found in the Key Dates section of the CQUni Handbook. The fee will be detailed on your fee notice available in MyCentre. For assistance making an upfront payment, please visit the How to Make a Payment instruction sheet.
If you are eligible, you may submit a Request for SA-HELP assistance to defer your SSAF each term. This can be found in the Forms section in MyCentre. For help completing this form, please visit the Submit a Request for SA-HELP Assistance Form instruction sheet. This form is not mandatory, meaning you do not need to complete it if you intend to pay your SSAF upfront. However, if you do not submit a form before the Census date, the outstanding fee for that term cannot be deferred as a HELP debt. If you do not complete a form and you do not make an upfront payment before the Census date, the outstanding fee will be classed as an unpaid debt in accordance with the University's Collections Policy and Procedure.
To determine your eligibility for SA-HELP and for further information, please visit the Student Services and Amenities Fee page.
