Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP
Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP are different. A Commonwealth supported place is subsidised by the Government so students are only required to pay the student contribution amount rather than the tuition fee amount. HECS-HELP is the loan scheme which enables eligible Commonwealth supported students to access a HELP loan for their student contributions.
If your Fee Type is listed as HE Commonwealth Supported, you have been offered a Commonwealth supported place, and you MUST submit a Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP form by the Census date of your first term or your enrolments will be cancelled for that term. All students who are offered a Commonwealth supported place are required to complete this form, even if they do not intend to or are not eligible to defer their student contribution.
The Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP form is available online in MyCentre. For help with completing this form, please visit the Submit a Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP Form instruction sheet.
Before completing this form, please have your Tax File Number ready to input as the form has a timeout function. You MUST complete this form by the Census date of your first term, or your enrolment will be cancelled. The Census date can be found in the key dates section of the CQUni Handbook.
Students who do not intend to or are not eligible to defer their student contribution must pay their student contribution by the Census date each term. To make a payment online, visit MyCentre at http://mycentre.cqu.edu.au.

Student Services and Amenities Fee

If you are eligible, you will also be given the option in MyCentre to complete a Request for SA-HELP assistance form. For help with completing this form please visit the Submit a Request for SA-HELP Assistance Form instruction sheet.
