Nyree Buchanan

I chose to study the Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership because it was a unique program offering, led by an experienced school leader, actively involved with schools. The program's intention was highly connected to school leadership and my current role.

The course’s connectedness to the current school improvement agenda of Education Queensland has assisted in ensuring that what I learnt was immediately transferable to the practices in my school. In my role, I lead teacher development in enhancing teacher pedagogy.

My learnings through the Graduate Certificate has transferred directly into practices in the schools I work with. This was acknowledged with a commendation at the Regional Showcase Awards for Excellence in the Primary Years, and also resulted in invitations to present in Melbourne.
