I have always wanted to be a Lawyer and finally found the courage in my mid-thirties. I chose CQUniversity as I heard the reputation as being a very supportive university and being able to study online was most beneficial for my work and family commitments. I was very nervous of embarking upon a university degree, but successfully completed the TEP Program which I found very supportive and helped me to gain my confidence.
I then embarked upon the Bachelor of Laws degree, which I initially found incredibly overwhelming. However, I always just treated each subject as a stepping stone. I have since successfully completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and will be admitted in the Supreme Court of Qld in August 2018 as a Lawyer. I have enrolled to undertake a Masters of Applied Law to further my career. Whilst I am now an Alumnus, I continue to volunteer by assisting via mentoring, tutoring and on-campus events.
Follow that dream, believe in yourself and reach out for help when needed, it is possible with sacrifice and determination!
