I was working on the tools at BMA Blackwater when I started studying and continued working, while studying via online study. I am now living my dream of a professional engineering career. While having a degree has definitely opened doors, the courses are also of significant value by providing fundamental career building blocks.
The CQUniversity course gave me the career plan I wanted while being closely aligned to the industry I was in.
Obtaining my degree a little later in life, I had some catching up to do, but my experience working on the tools has intertwined well.
Since qualifying I’ve worked in
- Sales, Technical, Principal and Chief Mechanical Engineering positions
- Various Management roles including Quality Manager for all mine infrastructure on Roy Hill Project
- Project Director
- Operations Manager
One professional highlight has been working for Fortescue Metals Group from feasibility study to operational status.
I am currently completing my Masters in Project Management. A MBA or Masters in a specialized area will definitely assist you in your climb to the top!
