Judi Parson

When Dr Judi Parson completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2009, it completely changed the course of her career, pivoting from paediatric nursing to further studies in play therapy. Judi is currently a Senior Lecturer in Play Therapy at Deakin University and is the Course Director for the first Australian University to offer a Master of Play Therapy.
In 2007 Judi co-founded the Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association (APPTA). She chose to study at CQUni for its friendly and respectful professional connections with staff and other students.
Judi is passionate about play and play therapy. She says working with each child and their unique imagination inspires her every day. Judi also enjoys supervising higher degree research students in the field of play and paediatrics.
“I delight in the snowball effect: teaching masters students to become play therapists has a far-reaching impact on the lives of so many children and their families.”
Judi would love to see a Professor of Play Therapy in an Australian university in her lifetime.
