After graduating from CQUni in 2000, I returned to PNG and was given a job as a Chief Trainer overseeing the training branch of the Department of Finance for the New Guinea Government.

After working for two years as Chief Trainer, I was promoted to a higher position as Assistant Secretary Human Resources Branch overseeing HR branch activities. In 2006 I was promoted to another higher position as a First Assistant Secretary managing the Corporate Services Division. In this division I managed over 60 staff.

My role and responsibility included supervising three branches: Human Resources, Training, and Administration. The Department of Finance looks after well over 1,000 staff files and all human resources problems and issues throughout PNG.

My job required me to travel domestically and internationally for meetings and conferences. During my term in this position I had to act in the role of Deputy Secretary many times, and once as Secretary which is an achievement I will not forget.

I retired from my active line position in 2010, but I continue to work as as a Consultant with the Department of Finance Training Branch.
