Brian has worked for stronger communities and families in Australia and overseas since the early 1980s.
Since 2005, he has been Chief Executive Officer of Families Australia, an independent national peak body that advises the Australian Government on ways to advance the well-being of families and children.
He is also the Coordinator of the Coalition of Organisations Committed to the Safety and Well-being of Australia’s Children, which play a leading role in advocating for and negotiating the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009-2020.
In a career spanning diplomatic/government, private and community sectors, Brian has:
- Represented the Australian Government at four UN General Assemblies on aid, humanitarian and
- Managed Australia’s aid program in Burma
- Co-founded a social venture firm to encourage sustainable Australian corporate-community partnerships
- Held leadership position in many international, national and local community development and allied
Brian is the winner of the 2015 Outstanding Alumnus award.
