Learning doesn’t stop after graduation, and neither does the support we offer our graduates.
We launched the CQUniCares Alumni Development Fund as part of our commitment to lifelong support for our graduates. The Fund offers grants of up to $1000 for graduates to pursue the knowledge and skills they need to make a big impact in their communities.
Who can apply to the Fund?
You’re eligible to apply to the fund if you’ve graduated from CQUniversity with a vocational or higher education qualification. Applications will open later in the year, and the Guidelines and Application Form will be available on this page.
How can I apply to the Fund?
Fund applications will open later in 2018. You can check back here for more information, or contact the Alumni Relations Team to ask to be notified when applications are open.

Centre for Professional Development
The Centre for Professional Development provides a variety of professional development and continuing education opportunities for professionals across multiple disciplines, including business, health, education and others.
Customised programs and courses are developed in partnership with organisations or agencies to deliver quality professional development for their workforce. This is designed to enable employees to meet their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) obligations in their profession.

A few weeks after you become eligible to graduate, your student access to the CQUniversity library and e-databases will expire. However, you can apply for alumni access so you can keep using this great resource to stay current with new research and publications in your field.
We offer free access to the following electronic databases - Informit (Australian content) and ScienceDirect.

Due to changing vendor license conditions the range of databases available to CQUniversity alumni may alter. Please refer to this page regularly for the latest information.
Alumni can apply for free annual membership of CQUniversity library. Please visit a library on any of our campuses to apply for a borrowing card. Physical loans must be borrowed in person from any campus. Visit the library website for further details about alumni borrowing information and regulations.

CQUniversity Career Services
A large number of FREE career services are available to graduates. This includes:
- Self-directed career reflection and planning
- Mentoring by fellow graduates
- Career counselling
- Resume and job application checking.

Employment Preparation Session - Participants are recommended to access the self-directed employment preparation material available on CareerHub before booking for this session. Please register for CareerHub via the CareerHub link below, and undertake the course. Alternatively, you can register directly by contacting the Careers Team at email@example.com.
CareerHub Job Service and Employment Search
In addition, a free online jobs board is available to all graduates. CareerHub enables graduates to search for full, casual or part-time positions; graduate recruitment; employer information; and receive resume preparation and selection criteria preparation advice.

The School of Education and The Arts, incorporating the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, encourages all CQUniversity Alumni to become a "Friend of the Conservatorium" to access advance bookings and special concession rates to a variety of concerts, master-classes and exhibitions presented by the School. Your support will benefit the next generation of performers studying at the Conservatorium.
Institute of Managers and Leaders - Personal Membership
From new managers to leaders of business, the Institute of Managers and Leaders has more than 9,000 members in a variety of industries, in the smallest entrepreneurial endeavour to the big end of town. They offer training, events, networking, access to information, and professional manager post-nominals.
Young Managers (up to 30 years of age) may be particularly interested in the Emerging Manager member category. NB Employers may sponsor your membership as a Professional Development activity.

Rockhampton-based graduates can achieve a more active, healthy and relaxed lifestyle by joining the CQUni Community Sports Centre, located on the North Rockhampton campus. The Centre’s facilities include an indoor and outdoor gym, heated pool, a large variety of classes, free tennis court hire and an athletics oval.

Australia China Alumni Association
With hundreds of alumni living in China, we’ve forged a strong link with the Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA). We’re a university member of this organisation, which is an overarching program for all China-based graduates of Australian universities. ACAA membership is free and is a great opportunity for you to attend events, mentor (or be mentored), meet other graduates of Australian universities, hear about job vacancies and more. We encourage you to take advantage of the range of benefits on offer and join ACAA.
Australia China Alumni Awards
The Australia China Alumni Awards recognise outstanding work from Australian university graduates living in China. If you’d like to be considered for the Awards, ensure your location and employment details are up-to-date.
To ensure you receive relevant invitations, It’s important you keep your location and employment details updated, which you can do by visiting CQUConnect.
If you loaded course documents into Mahara, these are available online for life. Course notes and subject outlines are available through Moodle for up to three years after graduation (this is dependent on the archiving schedule).
The aim is to help you smoothly transition into the workforce by allowing you to review course content and documents to polish your discipline knowledge. Moodle and Mahara access can be useful after graduation when writing a resume or preparing for a job interview.
Access to both Moodle and Mahara is via the My.CQU student portal using your existing CQU Username and Password. If you can’t remember your username or need your password reset, contact the Information Technology Helpdesk.
