Domestic and Family Violence – Improving Outcomes through Research, Education and Engagement

Research by the Queensland Centre for Domestic & Family Violence Research (QCDFVR) which focuses on social planning, policy development and sector engagement has delivered impact through legislative analyses and parliamentary submissions that have had a positive influence on government and community understandings of domestic and family violence (DFV) and how the response to DFV can be improved. Specifically, QCDFVR research has led to improved professional practice in the DFV sector through enhanced training opportunities, network development and the application of research into practice. This has subsequently led to changes in public policy to manage DFV responses, specifically the cross-border enforcement of DFV protection orders in Australia and ‘Not Now, Not Ever’ DFV reform program.
