Applied Mathematics is a cornerstone in CQUniversity’s research profile as a core part of the University’s Centre for Intelligent Systems (CIS). The CIS conducts outcome driven as well as theoretical research in the areas of complex intelligent systems. A particular focus is applied technologies relating to ICT and Engineering applications. The research in Applied Mathematics (FoR 0102) spans from traditional point-to-point control systems to network-based control systems with the greatest strength in the area of networked control systems, time-delay systems and nonlinear systems and their applications. In the 2015 ERA outcomes, CQUniversity achieved the highest 2015 ERA RANK 5 in both Mathematical Sciences (FoR 01) and Applied Mathematics (FoR 0102), which is well above world standard.
