Centre of Regional Advancement of Learning, Equity, Access and Participation (LEAP)

The Centre for Regional Advancement of Learning, Equity, and Access & Participation (LEAP) builds on CQUniversity’s commitment to enhance the education and employment outcomes of people from diverse backgrounds in regional locations. Its focus is on research that provides evidence to inform policy and practice at the local, national and international level in partnership with industry and our communities.

The Centre for Regional Advancement in Learning, Equity, Access and Participation (LEAP) provides regional and national leadership in education and equity related research. The Centre aims to achieve significant research and community impact through ‘engaged research’ as a key priority in four theme areas:

  1. Equity, access and participation policy and practice
  2. Scholarship of learning and teaching
  3. Education, training and employment pathways
  4. Healthy communities and health education

Research Higher Degrees


The LEAP Centre proposes to provide regional outreach through research hubs established across CQUniversity’s footprint. Research Higher Degree student projects will be supported, with local candidates undertaking projects aligned to LEAP Centre research focus areas.


LEAP’s research will produce high impact and internationally important outputs in Specialist Studies in Education (1303 Field of Research).
