CENTRE FOR REGIONAL ECONOMIES AND SUPPLY CHAINS (CRESC)
To develop a world-class research centre that contributes to economic and business systems research, and improves quality of life in regional Australia and beyond.
The Centre for Regional Economies and Supply Chains (CRESC) combines the expertise of CQUniversity’s leading researchers in issues focused on the development and enhancement of economic systems, the tourism industry, and supply and value chains vital to regional and rural areas. Our research leaders and team members work with a broad range of industry and research partners, State and local governments, and business and community organisations to generate new information and understanding about developing and managing resources for the most beneficial regional outcomes, the need to protect natural resources, the importance of human capital and entrepreneurial thinking in regional communities and improving supply chains within and outside regional Australia. The Centre also offers the opportunity to consolidate and grow existing research activities that have been conducted across the international community, particularly in the UK, Europe, USA, NZ, Canada, Japan, Korea, China, South and South-east Asia.
Our work is achieved under three major research themes/programme areas:
- Regional and Rural Economies
- Tourism Development
- Supply and Value Chains
