Courses will move to the Learning Place on 6 December 2019

From 6 December 2019, these courses will move to the Department of Education’s e-learning hub, the Learning Place, which can only be accessed by teachers of the department.

From 31 December 2019, you will no longer be able to access to these courses via the CQU Teacher Portal.

If you are a teacher with the department, you will receive a course registration confirmation email from the Learning Place. You will also receive course access details from the department.

If you do not work for the department, we encourage you to complete course modules between now and 31 December 2019 in order to receive your CPD certification from CQU. Contact teacherportal@cqu.edu.au to obtain any outstanding certificates.

In collaboration with the Department of Education, CQU is offering professional development courses that will complement the work done by the QCAA. The courses will be for the following QCAA General  Senior Syllabuses:

  • Business
  • Design
  • Digital Solutions
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Psychology

The courses will be self-paced and available on line 24/7.

Each courses is made up of 10 modules. The first is a taster, followed by modules 2-9 being content, resources and activities, including videos and web links. The last module, module 10, is a range of complimentary tools and suggested activities that teachers can take away, download and use with their students.


How to access the Teacher PD courses.

Course Structure

The course will contain 10 modules:

  • Module 1 – will be introduction to the course.
  • Modules 2 -9 the content of the modules will align to the topics for Units 1,2,3,and 4 of the relevant syllabus
  • Modules 2 and 3 will cover Unit 1
  • Modules 4 and 5 will cover unit 2
  • Modules 6 and 7 will cover unit 3
  • Modules 8 and 9 will cover unit 4
  • Module 10 will be a download package with activities , teaching tools, information for your use in the classroom.

Completion of the modules is flexible and has a nominal time of 6 hours per module.
