Social Innovation Studio
Bringing students, academics and community together, CQUniversity’s Social Innovation Studio aims to create new approaches to old challenges.
The residential opportunity embeds students from across Australia in a regional CQUniversity community, to experience and understand its challenges.
As they develop local knowledge, and understanding of social innovation principles, and drive innovative solutions.
In 2017, the eight-day program saw students tackle real-life problems facing three organisations: Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours’ youth arm Gladstone Youth for Cultural Diversity, arts group Creative Recycling, and social enterprise Agapi which supports young people with disabilities.
With successful pilot studios in Gladstone since 2015, CQUniversity will expand the initiative across the wider footprint in 2018.
