CQUniversity’s Townsville Campus has taken over the entire ground floor of NQN House, officially opening the space in time for Term 1, 2019.

The acquisition includes additional office space for professional staff, a new street-fronting reception and a large breakout room that will be available for social events, functions and for community bookings.

CQUni Townsville and North West Queensland Associate Vice-Chancellor Kari Arbouin said the new space was all part of the campus’ growth trajectory.

“As we continue to grow in student numbers, we also continue to increase in staff numbers and as such both of our existing locations on Level 1 of NQN House and our three-level purpose-built campus are starting to overflow,” Ms Arbouin said.

“This new space will help alleviate some of our staffing growth and is also a prime spot for our new reception area.”

As the academic year draws near, CQUniversity’s Townsville Region expects to start with around 330 new students, feeding into an expected 2019 full-year total of 1387 Higher Education and VET students (a 6.07% increase on 2018 figures).
