Pilbara nursing students now have a seamless pathway for career progression

North Regional TAFE Director of Training Jan Edwards (pictured right) and CQUniversity Karratha Study Hub Co-ordinator Sharyn Morrow recently signed the Articulation Agreement for Nursing students in the Pilbara.

Nursing students in the Pilbara can look forward to a seamless transition from diploma to degree studies.

Thanks to a new articulation agreement between CQUniversity and North Regional TAFE, students based at the Pundulmaurra TAFE campus will be able to boost their career prospects and qualifications.

Those who complete the Diploma of Nursing will be able to seamlessly articulate into CQUniversity's Bachelor of Nursing degree.

"The partnership is working towards the Nursing students being able to remain at the Pundulmaurra TAFE campus where they are in familiar surroundings, while still progressing through CQUniversity degree, so it will be a smooth transition," says North Regional TAFE Director of Training Jan Edwards.

"The added bonus will be the ability to complete a three-year Nursing degree in only two years, with a shortened pathway due to the articulation."

Ms Edwards recently joined with CQUniversity Karratha Study Hub Co-ordinator Sharyn Morrow to sign the Articulation Agreement for Nursing students in the Pilbara.

“This Agreement will allow a seamless application of credit and transition of students undertaking the Diploma of Nursing with North Regional TAFE into the Bachelor of Nursing with CQUniversity,” Ms Morrow says.

“There are also Agreements in the fields of Community Service and Early Childhood Education in the process of formalisation with opportunities in Business and Engineering possible in the future.”

The new agreement is the latest milestone as CQUniversity and North Regional TAFE continue to formalise their partnership to boost education opportunities in the Greater Pilbara region.

CQUniversity has had a presence in the Pilbara for over two years and is working with education providers and the Pilbara communities to grow and secure ongoing higher education opportunities appropriate for the region.
