From uni assignment to food-tech startup, CQUni alumnus takes Gathar global

It’s a Queensland innovation being invited into homes across Australia, and digital dinner party platform Gathar first began as a CQUniversity assignment. Described as the Airbnb of dinner parties, Gathar has just closed $600,000 in seed investment funding, at a time when eating at home is surging in popularity as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease.

Growing together nurtures community for international students at CQUni Melbourne

CQUniversity Melbourne students are creating small scale food forests at their homes, with a project to nurture community despite social distancing. The innovative “Grow Together CQU” initiative distributed free herb seedlings to more than 100 international students across May 2020, and connected them as they share growing progress, tips and produce.

TEDxCQU celebrates and inspires changemakers

A TEDx event coordinated by students at CQUniversity Sydney is inspiring thousands of people worldwide, with presentations from students, staff and alumni shared on the global TED Talks platform. The volunteer-organised TEDxCQU forum was held on Friday 13 March, with the theme “Be What You Want to Be”.
