Course Summary

Keeping your hands clean is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of illness and infections in your home and workplace.  The majority of infectious diseases can be spread from one person to another by contaminated hands and/or objects.  This one hour course provides you with an overview of the importance of hand hygiene and the appropriate use of personal protection equipment (PPE) in the community setting.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognise the importance of hand hygiene
  • Identify appropriate steps of hand washing and using PPE
  • Identify appropriate hand hygiene products and other barrier protection to provide infection control
