Bundaberg Regional Council First Year Engineering Scholarship

The Bundaberg Regional Council will be providing three (3) scholarships to the value of $25,000 to assist a student commencing full-time study at CQ University Bundaberg Campus in 2018 and entering into the first year of study in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Diploma of Professional Practice (Co-op) Course. This first year scholarship provides students with the opportunity to combine study with work experience enabling them to be prepared for the practicalities of the workforce.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to receive the Bundaberg Regional Council Scholarship applicants must:-
  • Be willing to undertake the first year of their full-time tertiary study program at the CQ University Bundaberg campus in 2019
  • Be Australian citizens or permanent residents with appropriate entitlements to work
  • Be willing to complete 12 weeks paid vacation practice work with Council in the 2019/2020 Christmas break
  • Provide evidence of having resided locally within the Bundaberg Regional Council Area for two (2) years prior to January 2019
  • Have applied to QTAC for a place in the full-time Bachelor of Engineering Co-Op (Civil Program) or Bachelor of Engineering Co-Op / Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering) Course at the Bundaberg Campus of CQ University for 2019
  • Later, provide evidence of an offer from CQ University for a place in the specified course at the Bundaberg Campus of CQUniversity for 2019 and then be enrolled accordingly at the time of the HECS Census Dates for each semester

Selection Criteria

  1. Intended Enrolment in First year of Degree in Engineering at CQ University, Bundaberg Campus in 2019 (scholarship not awarded until enrolment verified)
  2. Displayed Interest in developing qualifications and a career in Professional Engineering
  3. Evidenced academic performance in appropriate subject areas to obtain entry to CQUniversity Undergraduate Co-op Engineering Degree
  4. Demonstrated participation in individual and group extra-curricular activities displaying organization, planning and commitment.
  5. Written and oral communication and presentation skills at a Year 12 level
  6. Basic proficiency in the use of computers and applied software (e.g. MS Office, CAD).
