This micro-credential provides an understanding of learning styles, personal responsibilities, and strategies to help you maintain study habits that are Creative, Reflective, Effective, Active and Motivated (CREAM) (Cottrell 2013).

Students who successfully complete the set of 9 micro-credentials* developed from the unit SKIL40025 Preparation Skills for University, (which forms part of the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03), may be eligible for credit transfer, pending all other entry requirements to the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.

2. Apply the CREAM strategy to identify and develop effective learning strategies

3. Recognise the personal responsibilities of a student required for success in higher education.

4. Understand what stress is and recognise the signs and triggers of stress.

5. Recognise and use strategies to minimise stress.

6. Understand what resilience is and how to develop it.

7. Understand what mindfulness is and how to develop it.

Our micro-credentials are available for anyone to access. You do not have to be a CQUniversity student.
