Overview

Have you always wondered how biologists name, define and classify plants and animals? Taxonomy is the branch of biology that classifies all living organisms on our planet. Are you interested in exploring the systems of binomial nomenclature, the basic hierarchical levels of taxonomy and the modern biological language and theory related to the study of taxonomy, evolution and diversity? Dive into the world of Biology and learn more about the fascinating world of taxonomy.

Biology is the study of life on Earth and all living organisms on the planet. Taxonomy is the formalised scientific system of defining and naming different groups of organisms. This online micro-credential will introduce you to both the language and theory of modern biology relevant to taxonomy, evolution and diversity.
