Overview

Study the Bachelor of Podiatry Practice (Honours) at CQUniversity and equip yourself with the knowledge and skills required to practice as a Podiatrist.

Podiatrists are health professionals who deal with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. Your education and training will explore a variety of health sciences topics such as human anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, rheumatology, paediatrics, wound care, podiatric therapeutics and conduct a research study. You will also develop podiatry-specific skills, enabling you to graduate work-ready. Practical learning experiences are integral to the course, and you will benefit from completing clinical placements at the newly established, purpose-built Allied Health Clinic at CQUniversity, as well as in a variety of external clinical settings, so you can put your learning into practice and gain real-life experience.

Podiatry Clinical Practice 1 - PODI12009

Work integrated learning takes place at the CQUniversity Health Clinic sited on campus. Students will have approximately 40 hours of internal clinical placements and 80 hours of external clinical placements.

Podiatry Clinical Practice 2 - PODI13007

Work integrated learning takes place at the CQUniversity Health Clinic sited on campus. Students will have approximately 96 hours of internal clinical placements.

Clinical Biomechanics of the Lower Limb - PODI13008

Work integrated learning takes place at the CQUniversity Health Clinic sited on campus. Students will have approximately 16 hours of internal clinical placements.

Podiatry Clinical Practice 3 - PODI13011

Work integrated learning takes place in a variety of settings. This includes internal clinical placement in the CQUniversity Health Clinic sited on campus, and various external clinic placement sites including hospitals, community based clinics and private podiatry practices. Students will have approximately 144 hours of internal clinical placements and 120 hours of external clinical placements.

Podiatry Clinical Practice 4 - PODI14008

Work integrated learning takes place at the CQUniversity Health Clinic sited on campus. Students will have approximately 192 hours of internal clinical placements.

Podiatry Clinical Practice 5 - PODI14012

Work integrated learning takes place in a variety of settings. This includes internal clinical placement in the CQUniversity Health Clinic sited on campus, and various external clinic placement sites including hospitals, community based clinics and private podiatry practices. Students will have approximately 96 hours of internal clinical placements and 200 hours of external clinical placements.

Surgery in Podiatry Practice - PODI14014

Work integrated learning takes place at the CQUniversity Health Clinic sited on campus. Students will have approximately 24 hours of internal clinical placements.

The Bachelor of Podiatry Practice (Honours) course involves extensive training in a clinical environment. Practical learning experiences are central to the course and you will need to complete approximately 1000 hours of clinical placement in order to complete your degree. You will undertake internal placement at the on-site allied health clinic and your external placement will occur in a variety of settings.

Commonwealth Supported Places

This course has Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) available, and as a domestic student, you'll be offered a CSP, provided you meet CSP eligibility requirements. CSPs are subsidised by the Australian Government, meaning you are only required to pay the student contribution rather than full tuition fees.

HECS-HELP Loan

You may be eligible for a HECS-HELP government loan if you are offered a CSP. HECS-HELP is an Australian Government loan scheme that assists you in paying your student contributions.
