Transcript

Hi, it's Maddie here.

Have you heard about ATAR, but not sure how it works to get you into a course at university?

Well ATAR stands for Australian Tertiary Admission Rank, and is a national measure of your high school academic achievement.

It's calculated by the total number of Year 12 student who sit their exams, and the total number of Year 12 students in Australia.

So how might you use your ATAR? Well the course that you are interested in will have an entry score and the ATAR that you receive will eith have to match this entry score, or be better.

You'll also need to think about any other entry requirements for your course, like pre-requisites.
