Hi, I'm Maddie. I'm here to talk about our Start TAFE Now program.

Start TAFE Now allows eligible Year 10, 11 and 12 Queensland students to study a range of VET courses as part of your QCE. Courses range from Certificate I all the way through to Diplomas.

The Start TAFE Now program will give you the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on training, a competitive edge in the job market and credit towards your QCE and further study.

If you're interested in studying a course to gain new skills or a competitive edge in the workplace, we offer a range of courses from many industries to suit your interest and your career path. Or, if you live near our Rockhampton, Mackay, Emerald or Gladstone campuses, you may wish to complete a pre-apprenticeship qualification. This means you can gain real trade skills whilst still completing your studies in high school.

Our Start TAFE Now courses are delivered within a number of ways, including online, mixed-mode and on-campus. Studying online means you'll complete your theory online with opportunities for work placement and industry. Some of our courses are offered via mixed-mode, which will combine online study with residential schools in our state-of-the-art facilities on-campus. You'll also see that some of our courses are available on-campus, where you'll attend weekly classes. A lot of our service industry courses like Hospitality, Beauty and Hairdressing are delivered this way. You will also be able to complete our pre-apprenticeship trade qualifications on-campus, where you will attend weekly classes in our Trades Training Centres. So the way in which your course is delivered is dependent on the course that you choose.
