Hi I'm Maddie and I'm going to tell you the difference between pre-requisites and recommended study.
Pre-requisite are subjects you must have studied in school, to meet the entry requirements for your course of interest. Recommended study, on the other hand, is not a requirement to gain entry into a course. Instead it relates to subjects that we recommend you study to better prepare you for your course of interest.
It's important to consider the recommended study when choosing your subjects for Year 11 and 12, as your course will require a foundational knowledge in these subject areas. By studying them in school it will also better prepare you for your course of interest. You might also find that by studying the recommended subjects, that you discover the course might not be the right fit for yo. So for instance if you were interested in our Bachelor of Agriculture, you would notice it has a pre-requisite of English which is a requirement to apply. The course also has recommended study of math methods and biology. So although these are not a requirement they are recommended. So if you are someone that had no interest in biology then the Bachelor of Agriculture might not be for you. It's always good to do your research first.
To find the recommended study that you should consider when choosing your subjects for Year 11 and 12 always CQUni website and search for your course of interest.
